Lashonda Monk

    Lashonda Monk is a 5’6 graduating senior from the University of Mississippi. Monk is now looking to begin her professional basketball career. 

    Lashonda is an energetic team player. She is a superb midrange specialist. Monk hits jumpers by either stepping into the pass or by getting past the defense with the ball in her hand. Another key part of Lashonda’s game is getting to the rim. She is a skilled ball handler who changes speed to finish at the rim, with strength and power through contact. 

    What makes Lashonda an even more exceptional player is understanding how to pace the game in her team’s favor, finding the advantage in each possession. Monk truly knows her teammates strengths, which allows her to set them up where they will be most successful.  

    Lashonda is the full package, playing both ends of the floor. She is a lock up defender ready to pressure and trap! Monk defensively gets her hands on the ball mainly through steals, however she can also rebound. She does a great job positioning herself to get deflections any way possible.

       Monk has an undergraduate degree in Communications. Her goal in the future is to form her own business.
