Zaiha “Ziggy” Minnis   

      Zaiha “Ziggy” Minnis, 5’10, Class of 2022 is from Clinton, MD. 

    Zaiha is a skilled multidimensional player who plays with patience. She does not look to force or rush anything offensively. When it is time for her to make a play, she can score in the post, hit perimeter shots, drive through contact down either lane, or dish to her teammate. Zaiha holds her own, welcoming contact and being a physical player. Currently Minnis is ranked #4 in DC for three pointers made (35 made in 48 attempts).

    Defensively, Zaiha is here for it! She averages two steals and five rebounds per game. Playing a physical game, Zaiha uses her strength to her advantage. 

    Zaiha has a 3.1 GPA while being a four year varsity starter. In the ’18-’19 season Zaiha helped lead her team to a Conference Championship and was named as a Washington DC All Star. Minnis’ personal awards include: ’19-’20 Seahawks Classic Tournament MVP, ’19-’20 Washington Post Free Throw Leader, and ’18-’19 Title 9 All Tournament Team. As she looks to play college basketball, her intended major is Psychology.
