Maria Ghaleb
Maria Ghaleb, 5’11 guard/forward, is an international student from Zgharta, Lebanon who is currently playing at Western Texas (NJCAA D1). Maria currently has three years of eligibility left and is looking to transfer to a four year college. This year she is completing her associates degree in general studies holding, a 4.0 GPA. While she is looking to transfer, she is searching for programs to complete her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology.
Maria is a versatile player because she has the height to play inside and the skills to play on the perimeter. Maria understands her teammates’ strengths and is willing to give them the opportunity to make a play when they are in the right position. Her perimeter guard skills include: handling the ball, scoring at all three levels, drawing defenders then kicking to her teammate. Inside, Maria can work off the high post to catch and drive to the basket. On the block, she has incorporated low post moves (up and under, middle and baseline drop step) into her arsenal. Defensively, Maria gets inside to rebound on both ends of the floor.
